KPR SCHOOL AND CHILD CARE UPDATE FOR APRIL 2, 2025
We are resuming school operations where possible - many schools will be open for students and families. We also recognize that some families and staff are continuing to deal with the impacts of prolonged power outages or storm damage.
While storm clean-up continues and power restoration efforts are ongoing, the condition of sidewalks and roads, including traffic light operation, may vary in each neighbourhood and area. Families should take care in planning their students’ route to school. In discussion with municipal partners, they are working to deploy crossing guards for schools that are open.
Please note the following school operations for Wednesday, April 2:
CLARINGTON
All Municipality of Clarington schools and child care centres are OPEN Wednesday, April 2.
NORTHUMBERLAND/QUINTE WEST
Northumberland County/Quinte West schools and child care centres are OPEN Wednesday, April 2, except for the schools noted below that remain closed:
• Camborne Public School
• Hastings Public School
• North Hope Central Public School
• Plainville Public School
• Roseneath Centennial Public School
CITY AND COUNTY OF PETERBOROUGH
City and County of Peterborough Schools and child care centres are OPEN Wednesday, April 2, except for the schools noted below that remain closed:
• Apsley Public School
• Buckhorn Public School
• Crestwood Intermediate School and Crestwood Secondary School
• Kenner Intermediate School and Kenner Collegiate Vocational School
• Lakefield District Public School
• North Cavan Public School
• North Shore Public School
• Norwood District Public School
• Norwood Intermediate School and Norwood District High School
• Queen Mary Public School
• Roger Neilson Public School
• Warsaw Public School
The schools identified for closure will remain closed tomorrow for the day, even if power is restored at sites later this evening or overnight.
