Updates for Families: September 13, 2024
Dear KPR Families,
It has been so wonderful welcoming students, staff and families back to school! I love seeing the many smiling faces and excitement for learning that is already underway!
At KPR, we are committed to providing world class education and support for students. To help us deliver on this commitment, our recently updated Board Action Plan (BAP) is an important, guiding resource.
The Board Action Plan provides a clear path to work toward the priorities identified within the Board’s Multi-Year Strategic Plan (2023-26). To learn more about the strategic priorities, guiding principles, and system actions that drive our everyday work at KPR, we invite you to review the Board Action Plan available on our website.
One of the key areas emphasized in the BAP, is our commitment to creating safe and inclusive spaces and our shared understanding that Belonging Matters. In keeping with this commitment, KPR will once again, be participating in the Peterborough-Nogojiwanong Pride Parade on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 2:00pm – and all are invited to take part!
There are several important days of significance coming up, including Powley Day recognized by Métis communities on September 19 and National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30. As we lean into this important learning and reflection over the coming weeks, we remember that our learning and conversations about Truth and Reconciliation continue every day, all year.
Please visit KPR’s Events Calendar to learn more about these important observances and others.
Sincerely,
Rita Russo
Director of Education

School Accident Insurance
Student Accident Insurance programs are available to help protect families in the event of an accident where a student is injured. Unfortunately, accidents can and do happen, and when they do not all medical, dental or other related costs may be covered by Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) or an employer group insurance plan.
To learn more about School Accident Insurance and the programs available for purchase, please visit the KPR website.
