Volunteers Enriching Communities at KPR!
Volunteers at Dr. G.J. MacGillivray PS and Baltimore PS Enriching Communities at KPR!
We are pleased to recognize two Volunteer Accolade Award Recipients for the many ways they cultivate strong relationships within school communities and enrich educational experiences for students! Strengthening outreach and engagement with students, staff, families, and communities is a priority in KPR’s Board Action Plan (BAP).
At Dr. G.J. MacGillivray Public School, Ashley Kiriakakis is an exceptional volunteer who engages and empowers students and the community with her positive energy! With nearly 900 students in the building, Ashley runs the Hot Lunch Program three days a week for students in 39 homerooms, organizes the volunteers, deliveries, orders and responds to requests, questions and any issues that may arise.
"Ashley always has a smile on her face and generously makes time for everyone. She is an incredible volunteer, and we deeply appreciate the energy, dedication and leadership she brings to our school each day,” shares Principal Lorelei Downes.
At Baltimore Public School, Pam Graham is another dedicated and selfless volunteer whose unwavering commitment to the well-being of students makes a meaningful impact every day. Described as a vital part of the school community, Pam offers her time in the classroom and at school events, and she also works diligently behind the scenes to secure funding for much-needed improvements. Her efforts have resulted in several successful grant applications, including funding for a brand-new playground that was awarded this year.
“Pam's passion for enriching the school experience is truly inspiring, and we are incredibly fortunate to have her,” says Amanda Clarke, Secretary at Baltimore Public School.
We extend our appreciation to Ashley, Pam and all the many volunteers at KPR for their partnership in education, and for sharing their time, talents, and passion in support of school communities!
In honour of National Volunteer Week, Trustees recognized school volunteers with Accolade Awards at the April Board Meeting.
