Parents Reaching Out (PRO) Grants

The Parents Reaching Out (PRO) Grants program provides funding to school boards to lead projects with a focus on the identification and removal of barriers that prevent parents and families from participating and engaging fully in their children's learning.

Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board receives annual PRO Grant Funding and provides application opportunities for schools to access these funds.

Applications that meet the criteria are eligible for funding. Funding will be dependent on the number of eligible applications received and may be capped at $1,000. Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board has received $44,500 in PRO grant funding this school year.

Project Eligibility Criteria

Project is initiated by parents through communication with the Parent Involvement Committee, a school council or other parent groups in the community.

Project demonstrates parent input on how schools can improve in at least one of the following areas:

  • Provide a safe and welcoming school environment;
  • Maintain open communication with teachers;
  • Respect parents as valued partners within the education system in relation to decisions about their child’s education; and
  • Parents are informed about the content of the Ontario Curriculum Guidelines
