Tomorrow, on Remembrance Day, we join Canadians across the country in honouring and reflecting on the service, courage and sacrifice of those who served, and continue to serve, courageously in times of war, conflict, and peace.

I hope each of you had the opportunity to rest, spend time with loved ones, and enjoy the beautiful fall colours this past long weekend. 

School board trustees are the oldest form of elected representation in Ontario. Since 1807, generations of community-minded citizens have made decisions on behalf of local, publicly funded schools, building the foundation of our system today.

Just two weeks into the new school year, students are becoming more familiar with routines and school is back in full swing. I have had the pleasure of visiting schools over the last couple of weeks and I continue to be inspired by the curiosity and determination of students, and the innovation and passion of staff. KPR truly is an awesome place to be!

As Pride Month comes to a close in the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board, we want to take this opportunity to affirm our commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.

The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board and CUPE Local 5555 are pleased to announce that they have reached a new, tentative collective agreement, effective September 1, 2022 to August 31, 2026.

Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board Trustees have significant concerns that proposed legislation introduced by the government centralizes decision making provincially and limits the ability to meet the needs of local communities.
